Frolic “Legacies of Cybernetica” Record Release: July 3 & 4 Celebration!

Frolic drops their second album “Legacies of Cybernetica” on July 3, 2026!

Part of the next generation of Bay Area thrash metal, Frolic’s second album shows more trad and prog influences, with death metal style vocals. 

Frolic has been crushing stages all over the Bay Area (and one tour that led them to understand how large Texas is) for over a decade. Previous releases include their debut Fusion of Spirits and LIVE at the Great American Music Hall from their set opening one of Death Angel’s Xmas Shows in 2023.

The July 3, 2026 show is going to be fully off the metal hook, with support from Blind Illusion, whose live exploits opening for Exodus and Death Angel at the 40th Anniversary celebration for Bonded by Blood in April 2025 are also about to receive the vinyl treatment on Hectic Records / Bleeding Priest Records this fall (Blind Illusion “Stage Flight: Live at the UC Theatre”)

But wait, there’s more! A second night record release party (who does that?) On our Nation’s Birthday no less, at the fabulous Pussy Palace in Oakland (punk house on 34th in West Oakland).

I’ve been to the Pussy Palace in Oakland twice, wrote about the Pussy Palace once. Can’t wait to get back there in the backyard seeing great bands, and bring my latest records to Gabriel who runs the basement Cat-a-Comb records. 

Unfortunately living in the Mission, July 4 is a day that I always (20+ years) host a backyard BBQ. It is important for friends to party and then witness the all-out beautiful Bryant Street fireworks celebration / warfare that takes over after dark. 

So I won’t be there unfortunately, but Ancient Rage as the support for Frolic’s second record release show is gonna be sick. Those motopunks deliver rock and roll rage. Bands named after Whiskey are always great.

So pre-order your Frolic vinyl or CDs of the new record, they will ship most likely a bit before July 3. You’re going to love it, great metal record with some very cool sci-fi inspired riffs and artwork.

And if you are local to the Bay Area, come out to the record release shows! They are going to be raging, and of course the band will be selling the vinyl / CDs / cassettes along with their regular awesome merch.
