Yes, it is true, in the city that is the dictionary definition of expensive, San Francisco, you can see great shows for less than $5 per concert.

Bands like Raven, Eyehategod, Crowbar, Exhumed and more can be seen for around a buck and a quarter a band (depending on your commitment to going out, and whether you see all the openers or are lame and just show up for the headliner).

What kind of scam is this, you ask?

There’s no scam, and no catch. You just have to do two things to take advantage this shockingly good value:

  1. Get yourself a membership to the DNA Lounge

  2. Attend all 6 of the concerts in what we are calling “Metal March at the DNA”

Patreon memberships to the DNA start at just $25 per month, which entitles you to get into any show before 10 PM (with a few exceptions). And you get a cool green membership card, which gets you into the following shows:

"Metal March at the DNA"

March 7, 2026: Belphegor, Incantation, Hate, Narcotic Wasteland

March 12, 2026: Vicious Rumors, Captive State

March 21, 2026: Exhumed, No/Más, Oxygen Destroyer, Iron Front

March 25, 2026: Onslaught, Warlord

March 28, 2026: Raven, Nefarious, Slackjaw, Floating Goat

March 29, 2026: Eyehategod, Crowbar, Bl'ast

Whoa, that's gonna be a crazy month, especially the final weekend.

Are there usually this many metal shows at the DNA?

Well, not normally, but there were at least 17 metal shows there last year, and if you are into stuff like punk or deathcore etc. there are more shows as well.

So some months it will cost you $25 or $12.50 per metal concert, which I think is a bit less than your average ticket price. But we all know metalheads are the nicest music genre fans, so I’m sure most of you will keep your memberships active after March.

Do you guys work for the DNA?

Well, Will (Bleeding Priest) does, since he DJs a lot of the metal shows. And they do let us give away tickets on this website sometimes.

But not really, though you'd think so from the amount we write about the club. For me, Hectic, I just like a good deal, and like to support independent venues while there are still a few of them left.

I’m a card carrying member of the DNA lounge, and a believer in the 1 drink minimum (per band) philosophy.

You should sign up for a DNA Membership now, since they mail the cards on the first of the month after you get charged.

See you during Metal March! Or probably earlier, since Exhorder is playing in February.
