If you wanna know about Metal shows in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley, SanFran666co.com is your place. We launched the site in February 2025, and in our first 11 months posted the flyers for 143 San Francisco metal concerts!
Instagram gives you whatever they feel like in whatever order the algorithm decides, so often you see metal concerts that have already happened, or you might miss announcements from your favorite bands if they don’t show in your feed.
Services like Bandsintown or Songkick have their place, but they miss most non-corporate venue metal shows in the Bay Area. Plus their definition of metal seems to be pretty broad (Journey? seriously?)
And finally a lot of commercial apps can’t help themselves, suggesting irrelevant pop music concerts (you saw Cannibal Corpse, do you want to see Taylor Swift?) that they must get paid to promote.
We fixed that. Just SF Bay Area metal shows you should check out, along with their flyers because we like flyer art (though AI art is slowly changing that, but that’s another story).
What about San Jose metal shows, or Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Concord, etc.?
Fuck those towns. Just kidding, this is the Bay Area, we have friends and/or family in all those places.
The problem is (and this is hard to complain about, nice problem to have) that there are so many shows in the Bay Area, between Bay Area metal bands and touring bands, just posting SF and East Bay metal concerts is hard to keep up with.
This site doesn’t make money so we have these things called day jobs, sometimes we have lives, and there are a lot of metal shows happening in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley all the time.
Why didn’t you list the XYZ band show?
See above, we might have missed it. But also we tend to skip shows that don’t have a heavy metal, thrash metal, or death metal band on the bill – pure black metal or stoner rock ain’t our cup o’ tea.
Nothing wrong with those shows, but like we said, it is hard keeping up just with the dozen or so heavy metal venues in San Francisco and the East Bay.
